Like: By creating a camera with a reduced pixel count and a short zoom range Canon has improved picture quality, especially where image noise is concerned. Images are clean up to ISO400 and useable at higher sensitivities. There is no noticeable blurring
Dislike: We regret the passing of Canon's easy to use quick menu system, used on all their compacts for the past eight years. The function menu system is now divided into two parts and takes some getting used to
Fast start-up, fast lens, good high ISO detail, good overall image quality
Expensive, comparatively large, poor control scheme
The Canon IXUS 300 HS digital camera has a fast lens and good high ISO detail, making it an excellent choice for anyone shooting in low-light places like clubs or parties. It is expensive though, and the control layout is not intuitive...

Good low light performance, Snappy performance, Good overall image quality, Stylish compact design, Good battery life
A bit overpriced, Slightly soft images, Inconsistent exposure in Auto mode
This IXUS is a compact stylish camera that offers a snappy and good low light performance due to its back illuminated CMOS sensor and F2.0 lens.. However, its high price tag leaves the door open for more affordable cameras like the Sony Cybershot WX1 ...

Stylish design, F2.0 lens and BSI sensor great for low-light shots, impressive high ISO performance, interesting high-speed movie mode.
Loss of clarity at the expense of noise suppression
There's a lot to like about the Canon IXUS 300 HS. Handling is mostly good, best on Auto, although more manual options are available. ISO performance is excellent, but at the expense of some clarity. We're guessing that only pixel peekers would mind as mo...
