Parrot's Bebop Drone ($500) has the company getting back to bigger drones, after releasing such products as the Jumping Sumo and the much smaller-than-usual Rolling Spider minidrone. Bebop Drone has a price tag to match that jump in size, and the drone fe...

There's a learning curve, Battery issues, Limited fly time

Resumen: I've used the two large quadricopters Parrot has released to date - the AR.Drone and AR.Drone 2.0 - but ever since I saw the Bebop at CES earlier this year, I knew I had to give it a try. The Bebop attacks two of the biggest issues of its predecessors hea...
The Parrot Bebop Drone is small and lightweight for its capabilities. It's relatively tough, but also user repairable if it breaks. It can be piloted with a smartphone or tablet as well as the optional Skycontroller
The large Skycontroller adds $400 if purchased with the Bebop or runs $500 when purchased separately. While its size and weight make it nice to travel with, it doesn't handle wind well, and its small batteries tap out in less than 11 minutes
The Parrot Bebop Drone gets points for being a compact, durable, easy-to-use quadcopter for capturing good video and photos. Battery life, performance and overall value make it tough to flat-out recommend, though...

Fun, Well-designed, Good camera
Expensive, Difficult to fly, Poor battery life
No. The Bebop can be fun, but it's not worth the trouble. Not for $500, certainly, where you can only control it with your smartphone, and not for $900 when you'll soon be able to buy a fully loaded DJI Phantom 3 including camera and gimbal for just $100...

Consumer drones are still ultimately big toys with tech inbuilt, and the Parrot Bebop is no different in any real way. It struggles more with wind than I'd like, but the bigger issue is that price point. If you just want a simple thing to muck around with,...

Resumen: The idea of a drone you could fly around and have a bunch of fun with was a distant concept a few years ago, until Parrot released the AR.Drone and suddenly people with iPads and iPhones were flying these crazy looking things around parks and their backya...

Easy and fun to fly, Great image stabilisation, Durable,
Short battery life, Video quality is good, but not great, Companion app could use some tweaks,
The Parrot Bebop is an expensive drone but an affordable tool. If you're just looking for something fun to fly, the Bebop is most likely overkill. Its ease-of-use and durability and great bonuses, but at AUD$699, the value won't be there for most people....
